Terms of Use
The rules for using Raqs Atlas.
Last updated July 2026
Working draft — not yet legally reviewed
This text is a starting point written for the Raqs Atlas platform. Because the site will handle memberships, payments and user-generated content, a qualified lawyer should review and adapt it before launch.
1. Who we are
Raqs Atlas is an online platform providing an encyclopedia, a professional directory, an event calendar, editorial content, a community, a marketplace and booking enquiry tools for the belly dance community. Using the site means accepting these terms.
2. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and keep your login details secure.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone.
- New accounts may require approval before posting, reviewing or purchasing.
- We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or our community guidelines.
3. Memberships and payments
- Paid memberships renew automatically each month until cancelled.
- Prices and renewal terms are shown before payment.
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- If a payment fails, paid features are paused after a grace period and the account returns to free access.
- Card details are handled by a compliant payment provider; we never store raw card numbers.
4. Content you publish
You keep ownership of what you upload. By publishing on Raqs Atlas you grant us the licence needed to host, display, promote and technically process it. You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload, and you are responsible for what you post.
5. Our content
Encyclopedia entries, articles and platform design remain the property of Raqs Atlas or its contributors. You may link to and quote reasonably with attribution, but not republish substantial parts without permission.
6. Marketplace and bookings
Sellers are responsible for their listings, delivery and refund terms. Event organizers are responsible for delivering their events and communicating with attendees. Booking enquiries are agreements between the client and the professional; Raqs Atlas provides the tools but is not a party to them.
7. Limits
We work to keep information accurate but cannot guarantee that every entry is complete or error-free, nor that the service will be uninterrupted. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the site.
8. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will show the date of the last change. Continued use after a change means acceptance. The governing law and competent courts will be stated here once the operating entity is finalised.
