Angella Kim

Angella Kim is a South Korean dancer whose professional career has been especially influential in the development of Oriental dance in China. She began studying Oriental dance in 2005 after an academic background connected with theatre and performing arts. In 2008 she established AFOD in Beijing and developed a training system that eventually spread through a large network of Chinese cities. Her international career also included performances with Jillina's Bellydance Evolution productions. Angella has taught at major international festivals and helped connect the rapidly expanding Chinese belly-dance scene with teachers from Egypt, Europe and the Americas. Her institutional impact makes her particularly important as a pioneer of large-scale Oriental dance education in East Asia.
